Ordinances & Resolutions
There are a number of ordinances for the township which to mention a few that are more common than others: Please take Note:
Building Permits: Permits are needed in order to do work on your home or business. Some projects you need a permit for are: new dwellings, additions, garages, porches, decks, swimming pools, fences, driveways, sheds and demolitions. Some permits can be issued by the township but some are issued by the State building inspector. Please check with the secretary if you have questions.
Burning: Burning of paper is limited to the hours of 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays. Use of a burning receptacle, designed to confine waste from blowing away is required or a fire ring. Burning on holidays is prohibited. Due to the recycling program there is no burning of leaves permitted at any time and no garbage. All fires must be extinguished completely by 6:00 p.m. with no smoldering smoke. There is a NO burning ban during the months of June, July and August each year.
Curfew Hours: Township youth under eighteen (18) years of age are prohibited to be on the streets, alleys, parks or public places in Pulaski Township between the hours of 11:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m.
Dogs: It is unlawful for the owner of a dog in Pulaski Township to permit their dog to run at-large within the township except on the property of the owner. All dogs are to have a license and kept under control with a leash. Please clean up any deposits they leave when you walk them.
Recycling: The Township recycles leaves in October, November and December per schedule that was delivered to everyone’s home in the spring. The Township Roadman, Michael Zachodni, does the collection. The leaves are to be left on the ground near the edge of the road. PLEASE don’t put them in bags or mix anything else with the leaves. Branches (blown down from a storm) and twigs will be picked up on Fridays. The township DOES NOT take hedge clippings, grass clippings or trees that you cut down.
Setback lines: Property setback lines in the township are as follows: A minimum of ten feet for front and rear yard setback and a minimum of five feet on side yard setbacks.
Weeds and Grass: Weeds and grass exceeding six inches in height are considered unlawful and detrimental to the health, safety, cleanliness and comfort of residents. When cutting grass please do not blow the cuttings out onto the streets. Cuttings clog up the sewer drains and gratings.
